We have our roots in the competition sport. No wonder, founder of the enterprise, Klaus Lettmann, was white water racing champion of the world. And his son and successor, Jochen Lettmann, is repeated canoe slalom champion of Germany and got the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Barcelona. Today, we are really engaged in this field, as our products show: The K1 “Vegas”, the boat of world champion Lutz Liwowski and the “Fighter”, a polo boat in which the 1. Meidericher KC won the German championship. We develop in team work for the top sport. Together with sportsmen, engineers and manufacturers of material, we always search better products for canoeing.
Our experience is consequently involved in all Lettmann’s recreational boats. The best materials and the highest demands to the workmanship are the features of our products. Due to our extensive know how in working with synthetics, we will offer further innovations, which are important for canoeing

Vakuum-Infiltrierverfahren
Lettmann is the first German builder of canoes who can produce kayaks of PE in a roto moulding. The advantage of this production is the specific distribution of the material even with complicated moulds and designs. Another example for our competence is the vacuum infiltration technique. This production process lies dry materials in the mould of the boat and uses a vacuum. After this, a special resin will be added. It’s a costly process but without using solvent it is also very environmentally. The final product offers a 25 – 30 % more stiffness combined with 5 – 10 % less weight. We look forward to offering you the advantages of the vacuum infiltration technique for all hand-laminated boats. Another process is the vacuum moulding. We produce many fitments for the boats in our thermal former. For example, the PE-seat or safety elements especially for white water. Our shock pad is very small but it has a great effect. It subdues the force of an impact and it reinforces the end of the boat. Our centre rail is also a fitment of reinforcement for white water boats and it centres the rests of foam. Due to our numerous ideas and craftsmanship, we create also individual boats. A sea kayak for overseas? No problem, every boat has enough place in a plane due to the possibility of the separation of boats. You need an additional storage space? It’s okay! The different compasses will have their individual place in the boat. Or would you like a sea kayak with integrated bilge pump and outflow? We do it. If you need more place for your knees, we will create the sides of many boats higher. The boat is too roomy? We can reduce the sides. Talk to us – your extra wishes are our challenge. But for the most part, our versatile standard equipment is suitable for the highest demands of our clients. For example: Our standard equipment “Expedition” with the integrated rudder or the equipment “Touring” with a preparation for a extra-installed rudder. Which boat and equipment you decide for, it’s clear: It is the beginning of a long friendship. Our fans are thousands of canoeists all over the world. They help us with our development every day. Engineers, top sportsmen, technician of synthetics, chemists, builder of boats and mainly the touring paddlers. Due to the dialogue with our clients, we develop new ideas, concepts and finally new products. We combine the traditional production of boats with the most modern methods of development. The result are new crafts like our sea kayak “Polar”, which is created in corporation with the members of “Salzwasserunion”. The history of our newest race paddle “Warp” is also very interested. A whole line of prototypes were simultaneously tested. On the one hand a theoretical test by the engineer of boat building Martin Heidrich and on the other hand in the praxis by world champion Lutz Liwowski. This paddle wasn’t produced until both experts were satisfied. And there was a family and the woman asked: ”Why aren’t there any kayak with three seats?” We thought about it and now, we offer a kayak with three seats. The “Summerwind”.
